The Rite of the Heart
The Rite of the Heart
Throughout the world, the Rite of the Womb has been very important for women to (re)establish their connection to their body and their creativity, be reaffirming that the womb is no place to store pain, but that it is a place of creation.

We men have occasionally held space for women to perform the Rite of the Womb, which felt very healing and grounded to them. But it felt like it would even be more powerful to step into this space with an initiation of our own. And so the Rite of the Heart was born.
It is a reaffirmation of living with an open heart.

Once a man receives the Rite of the Heart, he can pass it on to any other man.

It goes as follows:
The heartkeeper stands in front of the initiate. The heartkeeper speaks and the initiate repeats. Every set is repeated thrice as a whole.

[Both rise arms in the air and connect to the Universal Heart]
THIS IS THE HEART
IT IS SAFE WITHOUT ARMOUR
ITS POWER IS CONNECTION
WE ARE BORN TO LOVE
[Heartkeeper places his hands on the initiate's heart and the initiate places his hands upon the heartkeeper's]
THIS IS YOUR/MY HEART
IT IS SAFE WITHOUT ARMOUR
YOUR/MY POWER IS CONNECTION
YOU ARE/I AM BORN TO LOVE

[Now the initiate places his hands on the heartkeeper's heart and the heartkeeper places his on top]
THIS IS MY/YOUR HEART
IT IS SAFE WITHOUT ARMOUR
MY/YOUR POWER IS CONNECTION
I AM/YOU ARE BORN TO LOVE

[Now the initiate has become heartkeeper too and both can close the initation in a way that feels appropriate]
